Need to get with it

I need to find a pool/gym with the quickness. I was spoiled at the apartment with a free pool and fitness center.

If there are any east side clevelanders lurking out there now is the time to show yourselves! I need your help! I don't want to get stuck with a crap gym/pool and the membership fees that go along with it.

Anyone have any input on the downtown YMCA? The membership fees are a bit pricey but you get free access to all other greater Cleveland YMCAs...

My primary need in a gym is a good 25 yard to 25 meter pool. Secondary is some good spinning classes. A bonus would be an indoor track. I would just suck it up and join Peak Performance down in Broadview Heights but it is a bit expensive and the drive might kill me. So I would much prefer to find something closer to Euclid or Downtown.

Any feedback/advice is much appreciated! I would really like to settle on this today or tomorrow as I need to get back in the pool before the indoor tri on Sunday!

I have no idea. I have never been to Cleveland. My gym has all those things (pool, spinning classes & a indoor track) but that doesn't help you much.

Btw, all that chocolate looked yummy. Now I wish I did live in Cleveland.

Good luck on finding a good gym.

Hey, if you join the place in Broadview Heights we could always meet up for dinner or drinks since I live in BH :)

Speaking for the YMCA in Perrysburg...

It was really nice but too pricey for I was getting, since I was only using the fitness area (I did get partial reimbursement from work though). YMCA's typically have all the things you are looking for, and if you were to use the pool and spinning classes it would probably be just perfect. At one time I was a Shark(Anyone else know what I'm talking about?) so I can safely say the Y takes good care of their pools.

Oh also, most gyms have coupons or deals where you can go free for 3-days or a week or whatever. So you might be able to "test out" a couple gyms in your area for a bit. That's what I might be doing once school gets out and I can't use the Rec.

Hey Elizabeth - I am pretty sure the downtown Y has a masters swim class that meets there. Or it used to. That may sweeten the deal a bit.
