Solo Track

I had a great track workout last night. Hal wanted 6*800. I got to the track and it was a little icy and a bit of snow but still doable so I proceeded with the planned workout.

1.5 mile warm up, 6*800,400 jog, mile cool down for a total of 6.75 miles in a little less than an hour.

Since no one else was there I was able to finish everything with minimal down time and headed over to my in laws for dinner. It was a nice night. We got caught up on David's grandparents move and we had my favorite Hansen dessert, chocolate pudding!

800 stats:
3:31.97
3:33.09
3:32.28
3:30.14
3:31.19
3:20.09

I wanted to be between 3:30 and 3:40 so I am v. pleased with the workout. Looks like 3:40 at Boston may indeed be in the cards.

Nice workout! Way to run the last lap hard too. Very impressive.

Excellent run. Crazy... I'm not sure it'd be legal for me to run that fast...sheesh!!

I grew up just outside of Boston but now live in VT. The swim meet at the end of March is being held at Harvard. I'm about 3 hours north...but a trip south in April to cheer for Boston Marathoners isn't out of the question!! Keep me posted...

Great run! I did 4X800 yesterday and was pumped to do them at or below a 7:35 pace, with the last one being 7:10! Maybe it was something in the water...?! :)

Great workout!
Tell daniel b, that yes, biking is the coolest but to do it with a swim and a run is even more cooler. The real endurance atheletes are the ones doing Ironman.

Good job! We won't see you in Boston this year - we are spending our money on a trip to Anchorage for the Midnight Sun Marathon (okay, marathon for Eric, 5 miler for Riley and I). Eric qualified for this year, but we decided that we'd been there two years in a row and are ready for a new trip. Maybe next year again...we'll see!

hey, e. i usually read you through bloglines, but a track workout post drew me to your site to comment...and i was treated with a great video from kings of convenience. how very cool! thier 'riot on an empty street' was part of the soundtrack to my recent mono lake excursion. perfect music for driving along through a snowstorm.

ANYWAY...great work on the track. times like that will get you a 3:40, easy!

You're speedy and I think you'll only get faster as the roads shortens to Boston. I too, dig the Kings of Convenience.

Hey--just realized after your post what you meant when you said nice job on the 800s...that's a typo for me above--OOPS--I ran 8X400s at those paces!!!!! Not 4X800s! SORRY! I WISH I could hold the 800s for a 7:10. Maybe someday! So I'm not THAT speedy. In my dreams! :)
