Tight

My calves are TIGHT! We went to the tow path tonight and ran in the rain. It had been a week so anything shy of a tornado and I would have been running. It was nice to have some crazy friends along for the ride.

We got in 6.5 miles in 57:22. Somewhere around 9 minute miles. I definitely didn't feel like I was out for a stroll but I didn't feel like I was racing a 10k either so that is good.

It was pretty cold and it got dark pretty quick so I was struggling to see towards the end. I forgot my contacts so I had to run with the glasses and I bailed on those because they were getting fogged and wet. Looked pretty ridiculous in my Tiger's visor, wind jacket, and $3 Boston shorts :)

We all went to Hoggy's afterwards for some grub. Su gave in to the dark side:

I was disappointed but I guess it will make it easier to cook for her ;)

Tried to take care of all our insurance/hospital bill woes today. My goodness the hospital billing department is incompetent. I think I solved the collection agency problems, but during the process I found two other bills that never went to insurance, as well as three claims from insurance that we never got hospital bills for. YIKES!

What is up with the word verification for posting? Does blogger think a spam bot is going to post to my blog? Is this only because I was using Hello to add pics or what? This could get annoying...

On a good note me and B2 are official 2006 Boston entrants, who's coming with us?

I tried to get a pic of him doing it but of course he stopped. I will catch him at it though because he was doing it again last night.

The vacuum is sitting next to my desk and he insists on laying over the desk and getting his fluffy paws all over everything.

I am terrified of Lasik. I wish I wasn't. I love my glasses though and I don't mind the contacts most days.

Nothing wrong with some good meat now and then... but her burger looks terribly pink! (please tell me that's a steak sandwich)
You all look so refreshed in the restaurant photos, i love it!
you can turn the word verification off but you'll get alot of stupid comments from spammers.

me, me, i want to come! but first, must qualify. and second, or i guess even more first, train consistently (heavy sigh)

yum, hamburger looks just like i like it...nice and medium. why must restaurants always made med, well done?

Islandarts-Nope a medium rare burger :) I guess like she said if you are going to do something you should do it all the way.
I don't mind the word ver on the comments. It is using it when I post now too, I guess because when I post the photos I do a bunch in a row which bloggers automated detectors think is spam.

Partyrunner- You will get there! I have faith :) Just make sure you don't party too hard the night before the marathon! Save it for afterwards!

Restaurants are way too scared of getting sued. If you want medium you have to ask for medium rare!

I totally understand your hospital woes. About a year ago, I got a $4,000 bill from a collection agency for a hospital stay, all of which was supposed to be paid by insurance, who of course had not gotten the claims. It worked out eventually, I'm sure yours will too. But it is really really frustrating.

What does your cat look like? I have 3 of the weird-o's. Good job on the work outs this week. I see that most runners encounter some of the things I am feeling, but it is cool how they break through and gives me ideas for things like glasses running. I do hate how they slide and how if it is raining they get all spoted.

Thanks DGC, I am working on the vacuum photo, he hasn't done it now, his brother has been stealing his desk space.

Adele, yeah, pretty much I had to pay $1000 yesterday and we will probably have to pay another $900 in the next few weeks. Meanwhile all extra money is supposed to be going for closing costs!

My advice about glasses, don't run with them :) hah, I don't know how I did that in middle school, come to think of it I think I ended up tossing them to people every race.

Spam bots are everywhere. I am quite surprised you haven't been hit by them!! Cute Cats!!

marathena, I just got around to actually publicly listing my blog and when I did that I turned on the comment verification. So I haven't ever gotten spam comments.

I am lucky :)

Thanks on the kitties, I love them dearly. My hubby and I are trying to figure out the best way to handle the move with them, any option is going to result in them freaking out.

Congrats on the official Boston entry. I noticed on your other blog that your PRs are all over the board. It looks like you could "easily" PR at every distance under the half. Any thoughts about that?

E-Speed said...

Yeah, I just added commentary to that.

I think I could very "easily" PR in the 10k this Thanksgiving, and if I find a 10 miler to do I would most definitely PR (used that PR as a training run on a 17 mile day) and with a little effort could prob PR at 4 mile at winking lizard next year.

The 5K seems to be out of reach, but I hope not. I went through a long stretch of bad 5k times in college so maybe now that I paid my dues I can get speedy again like I was in high school. I have always wanted to break 20, a 19:45 sounds about perfect ;) (Note I haven't come close to 20 in a LONG time! I think the best I have done since that 20:03 is 21ish) This year I ran around 6:55 pace in one 5k.

Elizabeth, congratulations on qualifying for Boston! I just moved to Boston a few months ago. I'm still working on qualifying, but I'll cheer you on.

Thanks Kurt!

nah, everyone was fine!

That is actually the way me and hubby eat them too.

(At least when we are cooking them ourselves)

My husband manages a butcher block and deli though so I basically know that all the meat we eat at home is very good quality and I know that the temp of medium is okay for that meat.

I was actually surprised they cooked it like that for her, most restaurants really shy away from it.
