RBFers in AZ next week?

Just a quick shout out. I know that Tammy, Kurt, Bella, Commodore, Tri-Mama, Elle, Josh, Jayhawk and I will all be running next Sunday January 15th in the Arizona Rock N Roll marathon or half marathon. Are there any other RBFers out there making the trip to sunny Arizona?

Let me know. We should all meet up for a picture after the marathon finish!

Since Tammy is doing the event with TNT and I will have a bunch of Ohio friends there with TNT I was thinking we could all try to meet by the TNT tent? TNT always has a tent located near the finish so it is a locale we can rely on for sure. Any other ideas are welcome though! (Maybe a casual restaurant nearby where we can grab some post race food and beer while we wait for everyone to finish? Or a good landmark within the last mile of the course?)

I won't be getting in to Arizona until Saturday and will just be doing a quick run through the Expo just before it closes to ease planning for my family (Going to the Cavs game that night, woot woot!). So it would definitely be more ideal to meet up before or after the race on Sunday.

Leave me a comment with your planned finish time and I will try to organize something. Since I am only doing the half I am hoping I can get back out onto the marathon course to cheer, take pics, help run in etc. (depending on how my legs feel ;)) For those of you that have never witnessed me as a spectator you are in for a special treat :) Let me know what you plan on wearing so I can spot you more easily!!! I think I will be wearing my pink Wild Bill Tee. But if it is too warm that will switch out to either a blue sports bra or my red boston tank. For spectating though I should definitely be wearing the wild bill tee and matching hat!

Aack I need to get a cheap pair of sunglasses for the race with the quickness. I am only allowed to wear my ugly ones in Tris :) (They make you faster!) and I lost my good pair at the last half, boo.

I'll be wearing my TNT gear, so probably hard to pick out. I'll finish between 5-6 hours.... so don't get too drunk waitin' on me! :)

Who know what my finish time will be after this crazyness of mine... but I'll be sure to look for the tent. We're coming into Phx Sat too.

It would be so nice to be there with all of you. If one day some blogger-friend will decide to run the Marathon of Rome or some marathon in Italy, please let me know. I cannot wait to know something about your performances.

Oh, and I know Commodore and TriMama and Elle are also doing the full marathon in Phx.

Sounds like so much fun, I wish we were going to be there! Be sure to cheer extra for Tammy from us. Maybe our paths will cross at some other race this year!

Should be fun to meet up with some RBF-ers! I fly in Thursday night and will most likely hit the expo on Friday. I'll post my number.

My goal for the marathon is sub-4:00 (shooting for 3:50). At this point, the one thing that may prevent it is this pulling in my right adductor. I'm resting it, stretching it, taking good care of it - but there's always the possibility of a melt-down during the race. But I'm willing to trade an injury - up to grade 2 - for a sub-4:00 race.

I'll probably be wearing the same blue/grey sleeveless shirt, grey/black hat, black shorts and RED sunglasses as I am in my profile picture. If I get a chance, I'll add some sort of "Kurt from Boston"/blog-specific graphic to the shirt. There may also be an ice-pack on my right leg ;)

Anyone for Mexican food Sunday evening? Or how about the concert? Anyone going?

I should be done in around 4 hours. I'll have my TNT gear on too -- so just let me know and hopefully I can meet up. Since I'm a mentor, I may try to get back on the course to help some of my team finish.

Thanks for the heads up, Kurt...I'll be there with bells on!

I'll finish between 6-6:30. TNT from Illinois...I've got about 30 ribbons pinned to my back. Pink shorts. Just look/listen for the chick in hysterics...it's apt to be me.

It'd be nice to meet some of you guys...except for Josh, cause he's a punk. (jk...you know i love ya).

Ahh, there we go! I tried this a minute ago and couldn't get through.

I figure about 5:00 to finish, but I'm going to try to keep up with the 4:45 pace group. I'll be wearing blue jean cutoffs (yeah, cutoffs... it's all about the pockets), a sleeveless red top with my first name plastered across the front, a white hat, with a shoulder-length blond ponytail coming out the back of it. I'm short, 5'1". I think I'll wear my race belt w/ my number 8542 on the front and my name on the back, so people will know me coming and going....

Any first-timers, you gotta put your name on your chest so spectators will cheer you by name. It's a tremendous upper. This will be my first time putting it on my backside, too, so that runners coming up behind me will also know my name!
