Uggh

I finished the flying pig! Unfortunately right now I am not feeling good at all (this is probably the understatement of the year). My stomach is not happy with me. The last time I was this sick was when I got Montezuma's revenge on my honeymoon. Let's hope this clears up quick. I've taken 3 Imodium at this point and so far it is not working at all. I am wondering if I was coming down with something because yesterday I had a headache all day and last night I got extremely nauseous. Lucky Me! Considering how I feel right now I am starting to feel a bit better about the race this morning. Details to come when I don't feel like I am dying.

Thanks so much for all the comments and the text messages and voice mails. I thought of you all out there today.

Feel better soon!

Your time and placing are amazing- even if you hadn't been sick!

Glad you go through the race - but gosh, I really hope you are feeling better. Imodium always seems to be a silver bullet and with 3 not working -- gosh, I feel for you and hope you find something!! Drink lots of fluids, if you can.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling up to par. Make sure you eat and drink lots to help keep up your immune because when I finished Boston I got sick with the flu bug. Congratulations on your efforts. Rest well.

I hope you feel better, but it sounds like your race still was a good one. Maybe not as good as you thought. Can't wait to read the full report.

Yuck! Feel better. "The runs" happen to everyone occasionally -- and you STILL had a good pace. :)

Are you sure it wasn't the pig load that did you in? Maybe traditional carb loading next time?

Just a guess:-) Get well soon.

I had a pretty good idea how strong a runner you are, but this cements it. Congratulations on such a good effort given how you feel.

And really hope you feel better quickly. Could sodium levels be contributing to it?

Hey Liz,

It was cool seeign you after the race. My sister had the same problem. She was grimacing as I jog / walked in with her. You still had a great time. (Any BQ you can walk away from is a good BQ) You will break 3:25 when you least expect it.

Get Well Soon

Feel better ASAP. We'll waitn with baited breath for a race report, but we know you need to feel better first.

Way to go Liz. Even against not feeling good you stayed within 5 minutes of your goal. That is a huge accomplishment in itself.

3:30 is an awesome time, hope you feel better soon!

You sounded in great spirits after the race! Keep the big picture in mind... you'll probably run another 25+ marathons and I'm guessing at least a handful of them with be sub-3:25.

BQ!!!

Yeah, you might have missed your goal by a few minutes, but the BQ doesn't care. It's easy to feel a little disappointed before you get the proper perspective. It usually happens when I walk through the mall or go to work and see people sitting in their cubes destroying a bag of Doritos.

"What'd you do this weekend?"

"I ran a marathon. What'd you do?"

See -- perspective?

Anyway, great run. And remember -- everybody at a marathon is a little sick.
