Track This!

Had a freaking great track workout tonight! Huge thanks to TriAl and DaisyDuc for coming out. TriAl was just a wee bit faster than me on most of the intervals and that really helped me to step it up a notch tonight.

Workout: 1200/1000/800/600/400/200 long rest, all out 800, 400 recovery up till 600, then 200 recovery, each one faster as distance drops

About 1.5 mile warm up.

1200- 4:48.54 (6:26 pace)
1000- 3:53.75 (6:15 pace)
800- 2:59.50 (6:00 pace)
600- 2:12.21 (5:54 pace)
400- 1:21.20 (5:26 pace)
200- 38.83 (5:12 pace)
800- 2:52.61 (5:46 pace)

mile cool down

Not too shabby. I haven't checked but that's got to be one of the fastest 800s I have done in awhile.

Missed the neighborhood beach party but that's cool. David brought me back some desserts :)

Trying to figure out how to get in a bike workout, a swim workout, and how to go shopping for a grad party and wedding shower tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is having a great night! I am so far behind on blogging this week and it doesn't look like I am going to catch up anytime soon. Hopefully I will get back on top of it next week!

Sounds like a great session. I hope I can get back into that sort of workout soon.

I've got the same schedule - tomorrow I need to do upper body and core lifting session plus a run and maybe a ride. Whew!

That run workout looks great, but I'm not sure I totally get it. It looks like you did 1200/1000/800/600/400/200 each one faster than the next as distance drops. But then did you also do "all out 800, 400 recovery up till 600, then 200 recovery"? If so, where are the times for those? And what does "400 recovery up till 600" mean exactly?

Maybe silly questions... Forgive me I'm still learning! (As painfully evidenced by my recent bib mishap. Check out my latest race report - I'm such an idiot! :)

Jessi don't worry I was confused when I first read it too! The last 800 was all out. The rest of the jargon was to make sure you did a 400 recovery jog after the 1200, 1000, 800, then a 200 recovery jog after the 600, 400, and a long recovery before the all out 800

I do not get track workouts. Those numbers look to weird to me. I have never had anyone time me running on a track. Weird huh?

Maybe I'm a pussy because your times look so fast! When I see 5-6min miles, I cringe.

you are totally making me feel as if I'm accomplishing nada. ;)

however, as we both know, I am not a runner and probably won't ever be, so I am okay with my and Matt's morning jogs. It's better than anything else I've done!! ;)

Love you sweets!! tell Dave I said hi!
