Coolest Race in Michigan

AKA The CRIM. For those that don't know, the race started out as a 10 mile run in downtown Flint but has grown over the years to also include a 5k, 8k, and 1 mile fun run. It's a very well attended charity race. Plenty of top notch runners come out to compete in the 10 mile run which I have heard described as hot and hilly. It will be fun to be out on the course with some speedy speedy runners. Hopefully I don't get my ass handed to me too badly.

With hardly any hill training under my belt this season it could get ugly.

Yeah but you have all that e-speed from great track workouts to bank on. Have a great race! We'll be cheering you on.

Good luck at the race, I know you will do great, MRS. Speedy, I think you will be the one kicking some butt.

You'll most likely leave me in your dust. Just be gentle!

I'll be there around 7 or 7:15am, milling around downtown, near the big Citizens Bank building...

I'll be the one in the sexy Brooks Burn fiery red/fuschia shoes.

You will do great. Just ease into the early miles (its so crowded the first mile or two anyway), through the hills, and then you go through a rolling area, very nice subdivision, out to mile 8 and then hit it hard. You can see the finish line almost a mile out, on red cobblestone, but you should be able to pick it up before that. Don't forget the beer at pre mile 4 and follow the blue line. Wish I was going!

the hills are in the second half, so make sure you save some energy if you want to negative split!

when I looked at the results from last year (the 1st girl in my AG would have ran a 5:39 pace or something ridiculous, but she was an elite so didn't count) I was like "holy sh**!"

I'm planning on getting there probably right around 6:30-6:45 to get my number and stuff. I have to do at least 2 pre-race, so yes warming up together would be great!

I agree with Wes, you'll be handing people their ass - as weird as that sounds. Have a great race.
