Winter Buckeye 50K Preview

Finished my fifth 50k yesterday in 5:53:30 (First 50k where I didn't take a spill!). Ran with Daisy and Solar most of the way and had a good time. Legs feel great and I am ready to "taper" for Tampa. Got the new shoes in the mail and I'm ready to break em in and get them ready for a 4 hour marathon :)

Note that this is where MT and I almost killed an old man during the summer 50k! Nobody out riding bikes in this weather!

Stopping for a photo at mile 13.

Race report and Shoe Review are on their way!

To keep you busy though check out these race reports that are already up!

What are you doing running around in the snow? I'd be building snowpersons!

50K in those conditions, you rock, still.

Okay, I got a blogger error, so I'm not sure if my comment went through. I'll try again.

Is the summer 50K called the Summer Buckeye and on the same route? That's a good idea and one we could copy.

I finished my fourth 50K today - it was tough!

You sure looked like you were having fun. Congrats on not taking a spill. I managed to stay upright, also, but it's because I'm...slow!! Gosh...all those runner/bloggers out there and very quick to the post!

Finally, a name for the lady in pink, thanks for being a friendly face on the course.

Good job and good luck in Tampa.

I came across your blog because I was searching Steelhead Half-Iron, and I had to think, wait...is this me? Then I remembered that I have not completed the half-iron yet! I live in Cleveland and am an Environmental Consultant as well.
We have probably run many races together and probably will in the future. For now, I will use your blog as inspiration. Thanks!

Looks like you gals had a great time! Although I probably would've been slipping and sliding around. Running on snow/ice really works your legs in a completely different way. You're a supastah, E!

Great Race, E! Looks like you guys were having fun everytime I saw you all out there.

Tampa is a great course. Make sure to get beads along the course and your pic taken with a pirate at the end. Pirates rock.

Congrats again.

I sometimes wimp out on a 5k in the cold. Cannot imagine doing 50k in poor weather.... Kudos!
