Mamas got a new toy

That's right folks I finally caved and got the Garmin 405, rather my sister got it for me and I am reimbursing her for it. As I have been told the band is a little awkward and doesn't lay quite right on my freakishly skinny wrists but I am super excited to see how it holds up to a 2-3 hour run this morning. I'm even trying out the heart rate monitor, talk about information overload after 14 years of perceived exertion workouts and guesstimating pace and distance!

On that note I am finishing my tea and me and my pops are heading to the park. Wish me luck!

Enjoy the new toy. Somehow I think you won't be too surprised that you can maintain a great pace, now maybe just a little bit more accurately recorded.

Like you, I just got 405 a few weeks ago and loved it. As a matter of fact, I *heart* my 405. I even loved the HR monitor. It's pretty neato. I will look forward to seeing some of your data.

Heart rate training is where it's at.....go find out your zones with a test and you'll see awesome improvements...it's been night and day for me this year.

I can't wait to hear your review on it, I've been thinking of getting it but some people have spotty coverage on the trails so I've held off (plus the 10 hour battery life or whatever... ok for most training runs but not a 100 miler and as slow as I am, maybe not even a 50 miler.
