Wow I am so far behind on blogging it is ridiculous. Just a quick post to remind myself of what I still want to blog about and to bring everyone up to speed on my life.
The past 4 weeks have been wild. On September 10th I ran a PR half marathon, and injured my right hamstring. I took a complete week off running and came back on the 16th and ran my first trail marathon with Mouse, injuring my left ITB in the process (It was SO worth it). On Friday the 22nd I attempted to run with my girls in the morning but after 18 minutes of incredible ITB pain I threw in the towel and walked back to my car in the dark. On the 23rd I woke up and stretched and drove down to the valley to meet Wild Bill and friends and carpool to the Youngstown 50K. I went with the intention of quitting at the first sign of pain. The running gods smiled on me and let me finish my first 50K relatively pain free. Sunday I woke with a sore throat. Monday Sept 25th I went into see the ART doc and start the process of fixing my biomechanics and getting my ITB back to pain free. By Tuesday I had a full blown cold which is just now starting to subside. I continued to stretch all week and saw the doc again on Friday. With no running since the 50K I showed up on the 30th to the Akron Marathon to run in the 5 man relay with some friends. I suffered through a rainy 5k uphill with knee pain and sucking down snot, but it was worth it as the rest of my team members were super fast and snagged first place for us. Monday I was in to the ART doc again and he has cleared me for light running this week. I plan to run easy tomorrow night.
In the mean time I have been doing a lot of stretching, drinking lots of OJ, Tea, and chicken noodle soup, watching lots of LOTR, and trying not to go crazy with the lack of running. It's not like I have a marathon to run in three weeks or anything :)
I have been lurking a bit on blogs but still have a bunch of reading to catch up on. Looking forward to checking in on everyone.
Race reports and pictures to come soon, hopefully!

Oh man...that's rough! You'll bounce back in full force (healthy force!) in no time. :)
Congrats on the half PR though. That's exciting!!
Glad to hear you're alive. Sorry to hear about your ITB pain. Hopefully, ART will help and you can be back to full strength for your marathon
Gee, I wonder why you haven't had time to blog?!?
Congrats on all the races and hope the ITB pain is better soon.
Yikes! I thought I had been busy! Hope all of you is feeling better soon:)
Give your body time to rest!
I have a 40 minute run scheduled for tomorrow, but I won't be able to make it downtown. I figure my dog deserves a 40 minute run for her mom neglecting her all tri-season.
Hope you're feeling better!
:)
Jodi
Your making my legs sore from just following your race reports. Rest up for your A race and take a care of your injuries.
Great work on the 50k
Cheers.

Congrats on the PR :) and you take care of yourself and get better soon!
There's some huge runs in all that and you have been sick and injured. Makes the achievements more impressive.
Get some rest and get to feeling better!!
I hope all your troubles will not prevent you from the JFK 50. Get well and heal up.
Congrats on some great running of late. And I hope you heal up well and soon.
Hey! You have been a BUSY girl! Lots of running - congrats on your PR and your 1st at akron! Great job! Keep yourself healthy for the windy city - can't wait to hear how it goes!
Feel better, E.
I'm going through the same, dealing with taking a step back.
...and nice to chat with you at the CTC picnic. You're doing the right thing with the therapy.
Get any good Roxi pics?
