In Limbo

My cat is sharpening his teeth on the vacuum handle, bizarre!

Not to much to blog about today, I didn't get in a workout. I may do pilates before bed. Work was strange. Very quiet. I am back on a project I haven't worked on in forever and am having trouble piecing together where I should be starting off from.

We got two notices from collections for hospital bills today (for bills we never received) so I am going to have some fun phone calls tomorrow.

The shower yesterday was nice. Fall themed, and oh so pretty. I absolutely love fall. The leaves are turning here and it is gorgeous, now if it would just stop raining! I will post pics in a minute.

I feel like I am lacking in direction right now. Probably because the race season is over, but also likely due to the fact that in a few weeks I will be a home owner and not renting or staying in a college dorm for the first time in what feels like forever. Everything is kind of in limbo. The apartment is a wreck (boxes everywhere!) but I can't just pack everything away because we are still here for a few weeks. I am starting to realize I have a bunch of JUNK! I am a pack rat and I just can't find it in me to get rid of things. Like I have every race number and safety pin that I ever wore in a race. I keep all of our birthday and holiday cards. We have tons of books that I highly doubt we will ever read again (and this is after purging many of them last year) . It all adds up.

When we move into the house I am making a pact not to take anything out of a box until I have time to put it into a proper and organized space. Thank goodness we have a huge crawlspace and a basement!

Hopefully once we are moved in and semi settled things will start to feel "normal" again. In the meantime I need to seriously look at my athletic goals for next year and get working on a training plan!

DANG!

My girls kicked some serious butt at the Niagara Marathon today!!! Woot Woot!

These ladies exemplify all I want to be when I run. They range in age from 30s to 50s and they all were top 10 in their age groups today.

DM came in 3:23, KM 3:31, and BB 3:42!!! Awesome job ladies! Sorry I couldn't be there to see it!

Props also to GK who ran the half despite an injured ankle. Way to tough it out! Now get some rest and STAY OFF THE TRAILS!

Social Butterfly

So I did not wake up and run this morning. We need to buy a less comfy bed I swear, it is like the black hole, you can never get out!

So I have been adding a lot to my social calendar lately yikes, when will I find time to run ;)

Friday night we went to Carla's and watched a great (read as: really bad) movie: Fortress, you can read about it on her blog.

Last night we just chilled and watched the Count of Monte Cristo, which I thought was VERY good, seriously. Glad Hubby convinced me to watch it.

Today I have the shower to go to. Tomorrow night is free and then every night this week I have plans, yikes! Tuesday towpath run and Hoggy's, Wednesday B-Day party, Thursday TNT Kickoff, Friday 80's Halloween Party (Any good cheap ideas on what to wear?), Saturday S and A's Halloween Party, Sunday dinner at the in-laws. Meanwhile I am supposed to be packing for the move. Yikes!

Tired

I had all this stuff I wanted to blog about today, fascinating stuff I swear ;) But now that I finally find time to blog I just want to be off to bed!

I did manage to get a lot done today. Swam for 30 minutes, just worked on technique, no intervals. It was raining all day so I skipped the bike outing.

I got 6 loads of laundry done and went shopping for a shower gift for tomorrow. I had a miserable time at Target and it was dang near impossible to find anything that I wanted to get off the registry. I thought shopping was supposed to be fun! Apparently when it is raining terribly everyone and their mom wants to go to Target. I nearly got run down in the aisles by a lady in one of those motored wheelchairs. I moved politely to the side of the aisle and she insisted I give more room, for goodness sakes lady I only weigh 120 lbs and I was squeezed against the aisle sideways, what more do you want? She was followed by her friend in her motored wheelchair too. Yikes. They were seriously into the whole shopping experience. I just wanted to get the heck out of there! What I thought would be a 20 minute trip took about an hour.

I think I am going to run in the morning, but we shall see what I feel like when the alarm goes off! I need to map out a training plan ASAP before the holidays and all that food hits!

Crud

I have not swam since Chicago, and I cannot find my bathing suit!
